Default Nikon D90 or Canon 550D

I am planning to buy a DSLR. I am confused which one I will take, Nikon D90 or Canon 550D. Please give me your valuable suggestions and comments.

I found this article to be a good side by side comparison with the 2 cameras. I chose the D90 and I have been extremely happy with it. I do not have experience with the canon.

Thats a nice review...didn't realize the D90 was so much better

{let the flame wars begin!!}

Seriously - besides features be sure to pick up and touch/use one in a store. One will probably "feel" better and be layed out more to your liking - that should be a big driver in your decision as well.
Either way, you will be getting a good camera!

I think both are great cameras. Canon seems to be more popular generally. Though the 550d does 1080p video (vs 720p) I wouldn't let that sway you (even if you are into video) as 1080p is overkill for just about everything. The D90 also has a larger and higher quality viewfinder.

The D90 seems to have a slight advantage in image quality, and I don't think the extra megapixels in the 550D are going to help you (similar argument with the video).

Snapsort has a good breakdown of the differences between the D90 and the 550D.
