Default How do you maintain your DSLR?

Hi guys!
Its been a long time since i posted in this forum. I got a question, how do you guys keep and maintain your DSLR after an outing? Whats the recommended way of maintaining it? Do you clean your DSLR with a damp cloth and leave it to air for an hour before putting it back to your dry cab?
Thanks!

I typically don't do anything unless it's needed. If I know I won't be using the camera anytime soon I remove the battery. That's pretty much it. If the camera is wet I will use a cloth to absorb any moisture on the outside and remove the battery.

I change the oil every 3,000 miles and rotate the tires when needed as well.

Yeah, I might wipe down the exterior if I was in a particularly dusty area. Otherwise, I only do what is obviously needed, like a lens cleaning or just letting it dry out. DSLRs are amazingly resilient, compared to what most people seem to think!

I have some "special" cloth for lcd cleaning, and use it now and then, if needed. And I keep my camera and accessories inside Lowepro bag, so I can just pick it up and go out. Oh, yes, I keep auto-sensor-cleaner ON. Can not hurt, can it?

I always carry lens cleaning cloth, dust blower and lint free rag in the backpack. I let the baby get used to temperature change in the case. When i get home i check for dust or damp

Then I place it on the silk covered shrine i constructed among the burning candles and essential oil and rose petals and sacrifice a lamb to the gods of focus and exposure at the coming of every 2nd full moon and then....

Medication.... BRB

I took my K-7 to the beach with me a couple weeks ago. After dropping it around in the sand a bunch, it really was gunky so I had to rinse it in the ocean and then I took it into the outdoor shower with me so it didn't get salty residue on the lens or LCD.

What do you NON-Pentax people do?

Wait. Allow me to rephrase.

People were HORRIFIED.

Reasons to buy Canon, Nikon, Kodak:
[X] More Common
[X] Better local support
[_] Prices
[_] Ability to jump in ocean with hot girlfriend and her hot friends without worrying about putting my camera in a baggy
