Incidentally, how does metering work on these? Are they like some dSLRs, where you can program non-AI lenses and meter internally, or do you have to meter yourself?

I'm not 100% sure (I've been too busy learning about rangefinder glass ), but my guess would be that it works similarly to using adapted MF lenses on my Canon: stop-down metering only (i.e., metering is done with the lens closed down, not wide open, but is still accurate). There's no body-to-aperture control coupling, after all. Nothing nearly as nice as using manual F-mount lenses on a Nikon D300. Probably empty EXIF fields for focal length and aperture, too.

Image stabilization will still work with the Olys, though, from what I hear.

The biggest issue is fine-tuning focus with liveview, apparently.

Yup. That'd do it for me. Although..... really? What I honestly want is an M9 and Summilux 35 for $800.

Just ordered my GF1 on eBay. $750 for the 14-45mm kit, tax-free.

I just sold my Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 (for the ball-bustingly low price of $300). Gonna tack on another $100 and pick up the 20mm 1.7. Then, once I manage to sell my LX3, I'll use the proceeds to buy that sweet, sweet Senko.

mmmm... feed the disease ... yeeeah, that's the stuff.

Possibly stupid question: Do micro four-thirds and four-thirds systems use identical mounts or do I need an adapter? I'm assuming the former, but I just wanna be sure.

EDIT: Oh hey look at that

You still need an adapter. The four-thirds lenses sit farther from the sensor than the micro four-thirds.
