Hi all,
Problem Details : Snaps taken at day time. Before Shooting, display screen / viewfinder shows correct view But final image is something horrible. IMG_0042-Image Taken Outside the house: Looks like washed out, almost white (95%) IMG_0052-Image Taken Inside the house (less light): Coloured image but like over-exposed and when viewed on computer u can clearly see the lines/bands Camera : Canon Powershot S5 IS I have checked basic settings: Recording pixels: Medium (2592*1944) - Superfine ISO - Aperture - Shutter Speed - all set to 0 I have tried the snaps in both the modes - AUTO and PROGRAM BUT no diff. in the results . Same pictures taken with Nikon Coolpix L12 are fine. Please, Advice. Thanks in advance, Regards, Rachana |

From the EXIF data the settings for each image were
image 1: 1/500sec f/4.0 ISO 80 image 2: 1/5 sec f2.7 ISO200. The second image looks like deinterlacing, but I thought that only happened to video. Can you switch the camera to auto and take a couple of pictures and post them up? |

I agree with DogHeadGod: Seeing what the camera does in automatic can help. From this I'd say something in the imaging chain has died

s Had mentioned, I have tried in both the modes : PROGRAM as well as AUTO
checked all the 3 settongs : ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed all set to 0 But in all thecases, result remains same. And considerable point is that any setting ,if applied, gets reflected while viewing itself. Before clicking we get an idea from display screen itself. BUT here View is perfectly OK and final image is washed out. I have tried with 2 different memory cards, too. Problem seems to be with creation/storing of the image. What kind of problem it could be? Any Idea? |
