Looking for a camera...

I'm looking for a camera to take landscape photos and wildlife photos with. The end results I would like to post online in good quality and print on A4.

I don't know if I need a DSLR or not. Basically if the camera can do the above I'm happy. All recommendations welcome. I have a budget of £500 or lower.

A DSLR would be good, but 500 pounds is a pretty small budget. What you want is probably a low-end DSLR, and then start saving up for a nicer lens. The good thing is that, while you're saving up, you will have plenty of time to learn your camera, and get better at composition.

You could look at a Nikon D40 or D3000. There are plenty of similar Canons, but I'm not as familiar with them.

But, overall, remember -- it's not the equipment, it's you!

Landscape may require wide angles and wildlife may require powerfull telephotos. You may need a DSLR for this sort of range... Canon, Nikon, Olympus are good brands to opt for. Their entry level cameras are very capable of your needs. Whichever brand you choose, you are buying into a system of lenses and accesories and the option to expand your arsenal with an array of high quality lenses. Cheers
