Lightbulb Minimalism

I have seen some examples of this type of photography. Apparently there is not much consensus on what minimalism is.

What thoughts do you have on this? Perhaps some pictures to highlight your thoughts.

Darren had a great post on this in the DPS blog, http://digital-photography-school.co...n-photography/
Basically I take it as an image that has one real point of interest, that doesn't even fill up a full third of the image, and the rest of the image is a standard texture, so you know what the focus is and aren't distracted by the background elements. But this is just how it registers in my mind.

For me in minimalism the negative space usually is of one colour (often a dull, pale or non distracting colour or relatively uniform texture)

An example from my shots:

it's just not showing up because you were trying to use HTML.. I find it easiest to just click on the links in the message box to attach links and images. Basically for an Image it uses "[.IMG]image link[./IMG]" and for web link it uses "[.URL="link"]text for link[./URL]" (take out the periods of course)

When I was in a Photography class we termed this Simplicity. Using a Simple back ground highlights the subject and rids the picture of confusion. Everyone has seen shots where there is way too much in the picture. Ugly. Just ugly.

Good definition of minimalism, Seltzer (or Darren, as the case may be.) I like minimalist shots that focus on common objects. The shot below is of a handle on a grill. I just like the way the DOF made the rust color stand out against the green grass.
