Default Tulip Festival

I feel like I have to learn more about composition especially a huge field of tulips. So here is a shot from the tulip festival here in the Skagit valley in Washington state. I did some post production editing of the colors. I need feedback on my composition of this photo. Thanks. Im new by the way.

I can't actually think of anything particularly negative to say about this photo because I really like it. It has a almost painted quality because of the bright colours. I like the composition of it, the barn and the man balance out the sides of the photos. The only thing might be that the reds are missing detail, but I still like the shot.

I think the composition of this shot is fine. Could be a little less sky since the subject is the tulips. I don't care for the color, to me it does not look real at all.

To me, the compostion so to speak is fine. I would prefer the photo without the person standing in the middle of the flowers, and personally, I would prefer more detail in the tulips, I don't know why it has the painted look, whether it is over saturated or for some other reason, I'm not good enough with PP to know the cause of that look. I think the compostion overall is good though, the placement of the horizon and the barn, the angle of the rows of flowers, it's all good to me.

regards,
mike

I would crop the left side just a bit to the left of the haystack. That takes out the patch of dark just to the left of that which I find distracting, as well as the bit of the cloud above it.

What's most interesting about this shot is the flowers themselves -- I think it might have worked better if you had set your focal point on something a bit closer, such as the yellow tulips, or even the far edge of the red tulips. The person isn't that interesting, but they look the most in focus, so the eye is drawn to them instead of the flowers.

it's a little bit bright for my personal tastes. i would have gone with the lowest possible iso & faster shutter speed, but then again i have a thing for underexposed shots so don't listen to me.

I think the focus should be on to the flowers. And a little less sky would be better I guess.

Even if your focus is on the tulips, using the mountains and skies as background yielded a great result. But I would rather crop more of the skies to have more space for the tulips. Also I would have the worker facing the other direction (sorry I dont know how to do that with any PP software). And since this is more of a landscape shot, it would be better to set to Landscape mode or a small aperture (f22) for a sharper foreground, background, and of course, subject. Just sharing my opinion.

I wish I could be there to even just to enjoy looking at the huge field of tulips.
