Default This helps a lot

Hello all!

I´ve found this interesting and very useful tutorial about Composition guides and I thought you may like it. It explains popular rules and ratios and you can download them in images that help you when cropping.

Here it is http://www.sxc.hu/blog/post/689.

With all the threads on the golden ratio and the rule of thirds, this is a very interesting site. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for that link adalove. Some interesting reading, and good easy examples of how to use the various "rules".

There is a grid in the custom shape tools in Photoshop that I find very useful when cropping. It is 3 x 3, so you can align it over your photo to find a good "rule of thirds" crop. Then once you use the rectangular marquee tool to choose the portion of your photo under the grid, you simply trash the grid and choose image-crop.

Voila, works like a charm, in case you weren't thinking about the composition when you took the pic,

Vicki
