Default awn detail....

_MG_5959

Exposure: 2.5
Aperture: f/29.0
Focal Length: 47 mm
ISO Speed: 200
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: Off

awn detail.....shot in light tent with available household lighting....

this is an outtake from the rhythm assignment.....i wanted a pleasing, repeating pattern of the awns.....i went with an odd number with the hope that it would spark more interest than just one lone subject.....

thanks

thanks, everyone....

i took a variety of shots with different configurations.....i tend to get into a rut with my thought processes when it comes to the assignments.....probably 8 out of every ten submissions are shot in the light tent on a white background and then overexposed in camera......

i just love my new tent....now if i can only figure out how to fold it back up again.....

very precise and detailed with just the right warm, natural look. very nice.

I just built a DIY light tent, I've been looking at it for a week and you know what ? I haven't got a clue on what to do with it......I admire those of you that do.

thanks, mike......i've been working with a light tent for going on a year now......and strangely enough, i feel i am in the opposite rut from you.......i tend to use it more than any other style of shooting....there's so much control with lighting and staging,......i'm addicted to it.....

Great picture I love this sort of composition. Well done.

Just one thought ... is the original picture as sharp as you would like? I only ask because f29 is a very small appature for a 28-70 zoom. Most lenses of this type are at their sharpest around f8 or f11 and deteriorate when stopped down smaller (or opened up larger). Maybe you don't want sharp of course, but the title was 'awn detail'

Love what you did here. Did you have them held away from the background to get this effect or where they sitting right on the tent material?
