Default Aperture

I bought a new Olympus SP565-UZ and am having trouble getting that fuzzy background affect. I've played with the aperture but no matter what setting it still doesn't seem to change.

make sure your subject is a few feat in front of the background to make the background show up blurry.

Aperture is only part of the depth of field equation. The longer the focal length, the less depth of field you will get (blurred background). Try stepping back and zooming in if you can...preferrably something above 100mm. Anything less and the effect won't be that noticeable.

Hope that helps!

You mean the side effect of a narrow depth of field? Try the tips above and report back - either to tell us how you are getting on or to show us the problem.

Thanks,

Wulf
