Default Art Directing...

I saw an interesting post on a web design site I follow: Art Directing with Looking Room.

It talks about how the composition technique of leaving space for the subject to "look into" works in the context of selecting images for a larger design. It is directly relevant for what I do, as a web designer, but also has bearing on anything you do with your photos as part of other media, even if it is just figuring out how to place them on a Christmas card.

Very nice wulf. Good stuff like that makes specifics easier while really helping out the thinking process in general.

Yea, most art directors at magazines tell us that we take shots that might lend to make good magazine covers or double trucks to leave room for Masthead and words. Good examples can be found at National Geographic, Sunset Magazines as well as Islands Magazines.
