Post Set A Spell

For this image, I was simply testing a lens as well as a few varied settings. This is what I finally evolved to. What do you the viewers think ? Would appreciate comments, constructive and otherwise. Thanks - Tony

I like the colours of the wall, the chair and the leaves. I personally find the red shoes a bit too strong, and also distracting. For me they are in the way of me sitting in the chair, as suggested by the title of your post. Others may disagree of course. Also, I would move the chair away from that plant behind it, which is not really strong enough structurally to be part of the picture and is therefore more of a distraction, clutter. I would also put the chair at a bit more of an angle, closer to a 3/4 view. Not sure why, maybe it makes me think of interrogations! I think you are right to have the wall at a bit of angle as well, but I'm not sure on that and might try it both ways if you shot again. Nice shot for just trying a lens though!

Nice pic for a lens test...otherwise, it's boring.
The subject(s) are dull and uninteresting..
What are you asking? I mean, as a test shot...who cares? As a photo to convey something...there's not much to convey...very composed/contrived IMO...

I know, I'm a jerk...

But the chair doesn't seem to "belong there" and the shoes don't seem to "belong there" even more so... It seems very staged. Doesn't really mean that it was staged, but that's the way it comes across..

gwalker99, Welcome

Have a look at the Critique guidelines:

Critique Forum Rules

When you give the extra information in Critique, it helps viewers give you their best advice. It isn't for test shots. Almost anywhere else would be better: Chit Chat would be perfect.
