Exclamation First Snow!

We got our first snow fall Tuesday morning here in Quebec city.

25 cm of snow. It's now Wednesday evening and there's still around 5 cm laying around. So, I went out and took some shots on the golf course. Nothing much.

What do you think?

If you have some brilliant idea of a cool composition or angle I could have taken, let me know!

I like the pink sunset lighting, but it might also look nice in B&W.

...

Yes, I am very aware of the critique section. I go there often.
I find that atitude pretty lame... I posted in the Share Your Shots section because I don't want in depth criticism. I simply didn't want people to keep themselves from sharing their thoughts if they're a bit more critical.

I would be greatly satisfied with simple comments of the "I like the pink sunset lighting" sort. However, I don't want people to restrain themselves from pointing out that "it might also look nice in B&W".
Thanks a lot (CMC) I'll check it out in B&W!

The rules are posted at the top of each section of this forum. We ALL have to abide by them. How is someone pointing them out lame? At least she can read, and follow directions.

The rules read:

If you request critique on one of your threads, moderators and admins reserve the right to move the thread to a more appropriate location.

Please do not post critiques of the images in Share Your Shots. If you'd like to make suggestions on how someone could improve their shot, there are lots of people in the Critique sections who would love your
input.

Certainly didnt mean to offend you. Just pointing out the rules that we all have to follow.
Sorry you find the critique section "lame" please know that doesnt mean that we can convert the share your shots section into a critique section tho.

Question

So if you post in the Share section ppl can't comment if or what they like about the pic cuz that's basically what you are saying. And if that is the case then everyone has "broken the rules" and why have this section at all or why give the option for others to post/comment on pics here. Like MrCastle said the Critique section seems to be more of a you should do/try this to get a better pic not yeah I like this nice shot. Besides almost every post in here has been "critiqued" by others. I'm not trying be mean but like I said before if you MODS don't want ppl to comment/critique in the share section then why even make it possible in the first place. And he said your attitude about post comments here was lame not the critique section.

I like your pic Mr Castle. Nice shots. I can't wait till we get a good snowfall. oh wait...Is this a critique? Did I just brake the rules?

Actually the share your shots was put into place for people to come show off what they feel is some of thier best work. Simple.
It isnt for offering what you should do or shouldnt do. I mean how would you feel if you posted a shot you wanted to just show off cause it was one of your very best and people blasted it?
Thats what the critique section is for. For help, this one is for showing off, the technique section is for just that, explaining a technique or the before and after is for showing off a before and after.
You are always welcome to comment in this thread how a certain image makes you feel. Just not offer advice on what to do or what not to do or what to change or how to do things differenlty. Does that make sense?
Asking for critique should be saved for the critique section

I like the way the light is falling on the tree trunks. It doesn't have a lot of colour in it, so I wonder how it would look quite highly contrasted in sepia?

If you were keen to climb a tree, might be a neat angle

It seems to me that he was not asking for a citique just if ppl liked the shots. Maybe it was the wording that caused you to think he wanted a critique. And your point about showing off and not getting blasted here is exactly my point also. This is for ppl to say "yeah nice colors" or "great use of light" not you should have used a higher ISO. Comments not Critiques. Ok I'm done now...sorry if I offended anyone.
