OK, So this is my first official post but I need some advice!
I took these photos after seeing someone else's post on here (awesome inspiration!) I tried it out for myself and lucky enough my boys wanted in on the action because the ones of my plain old belly were just nasty! So here they are... I was TOTALLY impressed with them when I was finished but then once I thought about someone else looking at them, I got a little freaked out and started not to like them so much. They are processed, and meant to look that way - but I dunno... Do they look good at all? There wasn't much I could do while shooting as it's a self portrait and I was pretty much shooting blind... Please help! |

Mell, Welcome
I've moved your thread so you can have a look at the Critique guidelines. One photo per day, that's the big one! Giving your EXIF for that one photo also helps Critiquers get a sense of what went into the making of it. You got a good start with the part about processing. Usually any additional history to the shot helps us. So since they're b/w, and similar in subject and framing, you can get some feedback/suggestions here in Composition. Feel free to post the one you like best in Critique if you still want more overall views: Critique Forum Rules

I think they are precious....if you haven't already, you might want to invest in a remote shutter release and you might be able to get some other traditional shots where you can actually be seen, or even use the self timer, although that would probably be more of a hassle.

I love these shots. All of them! I am 29 weeks now, and I want some pictures of the kids and the belly as well. But seeing as I am the family photog its kinda hard to do! You seem to have done it very well. I love them.
I know you would probably like your face in a few..but we know how hard it is to shoot ourselves with an SLR....!! Did you do PP on these? Are they simply b&w no other work? Once again as an expecting mother, I love these photos! Great work!

I think they're brilliant!! I will definitely be trying these out on the next maternity shoot I do! I think I need to invest in a ladder though! LOL! Lovely!

Guys... thanks so much for the affirmation! It's awesome to hear that they look good to other people.
I've never been one for maternity photos so it was nice to see them turn out ok on my first try! It was a hard shoot, but worth it I think! Thanks again! |
