First post from me... long time listener, first time caller...

How about this pano of mine that I recently shot. I tried to crop based on thirds, but couldn't go too high because of the fireworks. Does anyone think this should be changed, or does it work well now?

Thanks Wulf... I use flickr, I just wasn't using a static image... got it now.

If you don't use an external photo hosting site (Flickr is my choice but there are others) then the easiest way is to use the album space provided. Once you have uploaded your image, you can copy and paste code to include it in a thread (I use this for work I have done on pictures from other DPS members as examples in discussions).

I have to vote with the rule of thirds... I think the sky is more dramatic than the water and adds something by being 2/3 of the framing.

The rule of thirds, like any other photographic rule , is more of a compromise than a "set-in-concrete" Must-Do.Only about 20% of great images use the rule of thirds. What you should keep in mind is that Rules limit creativity.
