Default Table Tops and Backgrounds

I'm a Newbie here and I want to do a photo shoot of various eating themed photos. My concept is to have the model sitting at a table with a shiny white table top and a white background. Being on a budget, anyone have thoughts or suggestions for getting those effects in a small kitchen in my home? Thanks.

Well, do you already have a table you can use? You could consider building a "slip on cover" for your table painted with high gloss white paint and use pure white sheets strung up as a backdrop.

I keep white sheets handy and some scotch tape for doing setups just like what yu have suggested.
Have you done any yet and posted them? I would love to see what you came up with!
