Not really. ISO 400 is iffy on the S5IS. I think there are only two things you can consider doing: 1) getting some sort of support for the camera so that you can take longer exposures (i.e., a beanbag, ultrapod, gorillapod) by resting the camera on a bench or other stationary object. And 2) shooting at the wide end of the lens (zoomed all the way out)--this will let you use a wider aperture, and will lesson the amount of camera shake that you'll see in a long-exposure shot.

Ditto what Inkista said. I have the S3 IS which has the same problem as the S5 IS - a small sensor (which is the cause of excessive noise, i.e., graininess, at ISOs 200 and higher.) I try to shoot everything at ISO 80 or 100. In low light or indoors, I set the aperture wide open and, if necessary, slower shutter speeds. And, as Inkista said, when using slower shutter speeds, try to find something -- a bench, railing, etc. -- to support the camera on in order to minimize camera shake. Good luck.

Today @ Ritzcamera I saw something called Flexpod which might be helpful. Not sure if that would be allowed. It's small though..
Hope it helps |
