I have a questing regarding shots of wedding rings. I'm sure some of you if not most of you have seen or done the wedding ring shot where there in the bible standing to form the heart shape shadow. How do you all get them to stay up right?? I've tried and they keep falling down on me.
Thanks Karen |

I have never done that pic - but maybe a gluedot would help them stand up...?

you're lying the book down flat, right? I ask because I've never had a problem with that kind of thing, and I've had people who were confused or tricked by lighting into thinking I set things up in some odd way, when really the setup was quite simple.
Anyhoo, in my experience, the friction between the pages of the book and the ring is generally enough to offset any balancing issues. I suppose if you're using an engagement ring with a diamond it might be more difficult though.

Yes I lay the book down flat, but I can understand what your talking about. The last wedding I did I laid the bible flat and put both wedding bands, plus engagement ring standing up. It wouldn't stay, sooooooooooo I tried to tape them and they still wouldn't stay up
I was afraid to do to much since it wasn't my bible and I didn't want to rip the pages. Thanks you all Karen |
