Default which crop is better?

I'm not sure which of these has a better composition:


This is the cropped one, made to get the butterfly out of the middle of the photo.

And here's the original, with the butterfly somewhat centered.

Which do you prefer? Any other crop suggestions?

I think they both look great, but I like the first one best. Nice shot.

I do like the first one best. The first thing I notice is her eyes and then the butterfly - maybe that is why - great photo.

The first crop, with the butterfly on the bottom third, creates really nice diagonal movement within the image. Your eye follows a line that is parallel to the one suggested by the hair. In the second composition, the line created by the fingers interrupt that diagonal and make the whole image a lot less dynamic.

That first shot is the better in my opinion. Right to the point, very very cool shot. I like it a lot.

Both are good, but the first one with the tighter crop is better, IMHO.

the 1st one is great, I agree that the eye is saw 1st then it flows across to the hen to the butterfly, fab cap. ';0)...
