Default Image Detail

I took some killer shots of my cat Veda, in natural light where
she has nice highlights on the tip of her hairs, on the top of head, paws, and i believe i have one image where the hightlights are along the length of her body. Also i have a shot of her were one eye is in the shadow, and the other in the light.
I believe it was a total of 4 to 5 images that i could really see posting. At the time of capture, i really didn't setup my camera, as i always should when shooting in manual mode, i just
kept clicking the shutter, and loved what i saw in my view finder. Now, my question, or concern is, the information in my histogram is all over the place. Tone structure is scattered, dark areas are almost blown, sharp spikes in the hightlights, but the image looks killer, how is this possible? I am at work now, so i will post the images later on tonight for review tommorrow. Of course this is my opinion as far as the how great i believe the images to be, but when you view them, you will see what i mean.

once you post I'll check back....its hard for me to image exactly what you are saying....
but I have had shots that really dont seem like they should look good according to histogram but still are pleasing images.....
I dont take a whole lot of stock in histogram except for clipped parts.....as far as that goes I take what my eye sees in the image over the overall look of the histogram.
