Hi,
What is the best option for AE-L/AF-L button. I'm comfortable with the full manual mode when I can set exposure and focus by myself. In this case I don’t need to lock anything since half the shoot button is setting my focus. Also one question why, when I set the focus and keep moving, the camera doesn’t allow me to take the photo till I move back the camera. I'm using NIKON D3100 Thanks. great forum [/FONT] |

If you're using AF-C (continuous auto focus), you'll need the AF lock if you recompose. OR if you're shooting fast action, you might have things passing in front of the camera, which can cause the camera to refocus off your real subject.
The second problem is the release priority. The default setting for AF-S (single auto focus) is focus-priority. This means the shutter won't release until the focus is "good." If you adjust your composition so that the focus point isn't over the subject any more, this could prevent the shutter from releasing.
