First off, I am a beginner so don't be too harsh on me. I just got my first dslr and here is two of my shots. I will post a link to my others as well. Thanks for your time.

The first one has been heavily edited (HDR?) and I dont care for the editing. Compositionally, the tree is very distracting. I dont see anything of particular note in the clouds (no formations, no impressive shape, etc). I just dont see the point.
Second image is better, but again the composition could use some work. The house/tree silhouette in the foreground detracts from the powerlines. You'd have been better off having the silhouette cut completely across the bottom and have it be lower (so that there would be more room at the top of the tower).

Yes, I agree. You need to tilt the camera angle higher in the second shot so that there is more room above the tower. Amazing silhouette by the way :-) .
