Rights grabs aside... I don't think I've ever gotten a Dominos pizza (especially after delivery) that looks in an advertisable quality to shoot.

I'm sure I'll regret this post, but I guess there are a few points I have to bring up if for no other sake than to chalk this up as a learning experience.
I acknowledge that $500 seems like a lowball figure for a big brand like Domino's. Would $5,000 be more reasonable? $10,000? How do you quantify how much one revenue one particular image is capable of generating if the photog retained rights? It makes more sense to hand over rights to Domino's for a number of reasons. First and foremost being: you're not going to make money off the image yourself, you'd be sued by Domino's. It seems like an easy way for a chance @ $500 to me. And if you win, you not only get some cash for a new lens, but maybe a little something to add to your bio as well. |
