Default Too much PP?

Hi all,
I'm just looking through some old shots and decided to play around with this one. In the first I just vignetted, adjusted colour, brightness and contrast.

In the second I did as above but then added an overlay layer with gaussian blur to create more contrast and ended up with more of a silhouette of the birds and trees.
What do you think, which do you prefer? Critique on other elements also welcome

Great photo!

I'm torn between the two, but I think I like the second one.

I like the second version over the first.

Default the second

I think I like the second one better. I think this is because the orange in the sky looks a bit better. I think it is the contrast. All together I love them both and good job.

Thanks for the views and compliments guys, in the end I've put the second one up on Flickr. Cheers!
