Default Susquehanna river, PA at twilight

I need feedback on these two shots. The wider angle was the original and I liked it but thot it lost it's message with all the shoreline. Did I crop the second too much or does it stand alone?

No, I still like the first one better. I can clearly tell that the boat is the subject of the picture. The only cropping I'd do is to get rid of the bit of branches on the right. I feel that the second picture shows too much foreground and it distracts me from the boat. I guess you could say that all that ground and not enough sky makes me feel claustrophobic.

Also I can't tell if the focus is dead on or not, but at the smaller size I see it at I feel OK about it. Anyhow, thanks for sharing and well done.

For me, the first shot has more beauty and sense of balance to it.
