Talking Christmas Star comparison

Hello fellas,

Christmas is only a few days away and I find it fun to shoot some of the different decors around the house. Anyway, I have two shots of this star on our mini Christmas tree and I want feedback on which shot is better.

This...

or this...

Thanks in advance!

I love the first one my friend.
Nice even lighting portraying a shiny Christmas Star.
Wonderful series shared by you my friend.

Thanks kgb224! The first shot took me several tries to get it right. Glad you liked it.

I prefer the first one, definitely. I like seeing all the nice colors of the star. But there's something a little off about it and I can't put my finger on it...

I think it's either the focus or something like that which feels a little odd to me. The top of the star seems a bit blurry to me? I can't quite place it...

@Jun Xiang Goh - Thanks! It really is a joyful day.
@ncbcymtechie - Thanks! I think the thing that quite bothers you is that the star isn't really facing front. It's slightly tilted to the side.

Love the first one, the color really speaks to Christmas. The other edit might be fun though in the right context.

I like the first picture better, but the shine might be a bit too much. For the second, you might try cropping it closer. I think there is too much strem, and thats why it is less appealing to me.
