this one is a really basic self-portrait: 580 exII at full power from top left, 1/200, f32, iso 100.

I'm no pro but out of the two I believe the first one is better. For me the second one looks like you've cut him out and added him to another picture. Its because the sun is behind him yet the front of him is abit light
