I was playing with my infrared filter and finally discovered the trick where you create a custom white balance for your infrared shots.
Anyway. I forgot to take a natural-light shot of this scene before I put the filter on, but basically the trunk was bright red and the leaves were turning a dull brown. The sun was randomly peeking through the clouds behind me so I only got a few moments of direct sunlight at a time, making the IR effect less obvious. The first shot is the untouched JPG as produced by the camera (with a custom WB). The one on the right had the levels tweaked and I created an inverse layer blended in "Hue" mode. Which do you like better? ![]() Body: Canon T1i Lens: 18-55mm IS Filter: Hoya R72 Shutter: 25 seconds Aperture: f/8 ISO: 800 I like that you can see the dead branch better in the one on the right, but I like the tone of the first one better. Critique? Thanks
