Cool 2 shots of a girl trapped in a cage. Which one works best?

Caged 2

Exposure: 0.005 sec (1/200)
Aperture: f/2.8
Focal Length: 30 mm
Exposure: 0.00
ISO Speed: 400
Exposure Bias: -1 EV
Flash: On, Fired

Caged 1

Exposure: 0.04 sec (1/25)
Aperture: f/1.4
Focal Length: 30 mm
Exposure: 0.00
ISO Speed: 800
Exposure Bias: -1 EV
Flash: Off, Did not fire

I can't decide between these two shots. To me they both look good and both have their downsides. I need help in 2 ways:

- Tell me which one you think works better
and
- Tell me how you think either can be improved and whether all the bars are too distracting or no.

Any other comments and suggestions are, naturally, welcome!

Out of the 2 I like the first better, as the shadows thrown off by the cage on the second shot are distracting. I think that the "cage" you are using has t dense a mesh and covers up to much of the subject.

I like the coloring of the second one, but the shadows are more distracting in it. Overall I think the first is better for what you are trying to achieve.

Definitely the first shot as the composition is better, and the wider shot provides more context. Better lighting and pp as well for this kind of shot IMHO.

I like the second more -- the look of desperation is more prominent for a caged woman than it is in the first. I can get by the shadows by looking into her eyes.

I like the contrast of the second image. The first one looks kind of dreamy. Just my 2 cents.
