Default Colour or B&W?

Once again I am fighting over what I like better. Maybe the problem is I am getting hooked on B&W. What do you think? Colour, or B&W?

Colour
Mountain Fog

B&W
Mountain Fog B&W

Dear Paul,
I'd rather go with the color version! The coloful foreground is the spirit of this photo! You can go with BW nicely in the other parts of this pic except the foreground! Just my own opinion! Very beautiful landscape!
Hope this help!
Thanks!

Thanks for your opinion. I tend to agree with you now that I look at the two shots again.

have another look at the b&w version - crop it right above the bush so that you have foreground rocks and the trees in the fog - Take that and punch up the contrast a tad. See if you think that makes for a better B&W rendition...

Wow. Tough choice. The colors are wonderful in the color version, but I love the black and white coupled with the haze - it gives it a nice touch.

If it came down to it, I think I'd give the black and white the slight edge. If you do decide to go with the black and white, I would (humbly) suggest increasing the contrast a bit.

Nice photo!

How about compromising between the two and go for selective desaturization?

Go B&W except accents of color, like the bush in the foreground.

Thanks Butch3r. I am not sure about combining colour and B&W though. Hmmm...?
