Hi....am a new member I just signed in and I hope I can get all the help I need....this DPS looks wonderful.
I like both pictures although the sencond one looks more intriguing.....wings are devine
What kind of camara you have...?
I have a NikonD3 and I have been for a year studing it and learning how to use it but I have almost zero knowledge in photography and it's been slow but lots of fun !
How do I insert my own pictures here..?

Hope you didnt mind but since you were asking for critique I thought your post would be better of int he critique section.
What is it you are trying to make up your mind about?
One thing about photographing smaller objects like what you have here is to fill the frame. Get in as close as you can or crop yout image down so there isnt so much empty space around it

I like the second one, but crop it closer and brighten it a bit. Love the wings!

I think I prefer the first one, there is a hint of colour on the wings and stronger background colour too. It looks like one of the lower wings is damaged though... I'd be tempted to fix that with a bit of cloning in photoshop.

As windrider said, if you could fill the frame it would be even better!

I prefer the first one, myself. I like the color in the wings and the background is more interesting.
