Default 1st HDR - Color and B&W

Hey everyone. I've been wanting to try this so finally did today. HDR in photomatix. This is down an alley over near Fenway Park in Boston, Ma. Let me know what you think about my first attempt and if color or black and white is preferred. Also darkened the b&w right side coming in.

HDR is pretty subjective, but I'd say your color version hits the typical style - very saturated with a lot of texture.

The black and white has good texture, though the shadows seem a little dark to me. Were you after a particular look by increasing them on the right?

Yeah I agree, I was trying to draw the attention away to the left a little more since thats where the furthest point was. Not that it really matters because there isn't a real main subject, Just felt like trying some new things all in all. I might go back to this site for a photo shoot of a modified black 2005 mustang. I'll probably post some pictures in the same post.

I prefer the black and white one ...colour HDR with high saturation always looks video-gamey to me.

Still impressive work though!

Both of them look great, but I like the color one better.

I think with the HDR effect toned down a bit to increase realism either color or B&W would look great. Its a great perspective and a nice location to choose for an HDR shot. Its very normal for your first HDR pieces to be over processed. I do almost every shot in HDR because I think when it is used correctly it can show the viewer the feeling, emotion, and story of the scene. Keep it up!

I love yr colour version , but I am a practicioner of Extreme HDR hahaha , so love the painted or video gamey look , I usually do a mild one , an extreme one and either balck and white or sepia vers. to compare .
