I much prefer #1, for several reasons:
- In #1, the lines of the road lead across the frame, doing a very good job of pulling my eye into the frame. Those are excellent. - In #2, the same road doesn't have that dynamic diagonal feeling -- it's straight in, and boring. - Also, #2 appears to be severely tilted -- this may not be the case, but the cut-off hill compared to the straight road makes it feel this way. I really do like #1!

I also like the way the lines work in the first image. I would like to have some line that would take my attention back to the left side of the frame. Even better would be a circular line bringing us back to the front left . . . . . and repeat . . . . .
