Default Port Macquarie by the sea

Photo was taken and then cropped. I'm not sure which is the best crop. The sky or the sea.
Thanks

I like the second one better. The moon is relatively centered in the first but it's on a thirds line (or thereabouts) in the second, and the reflection in the water leads you up to it.

Nice shot, the colors are beautiful.

You should really aim somewhere in between

Check your other topic about the suggestion...

I like the second one better too. It would be stagnate to have the moon directly in the middle of the picture.

I like the composition of the first one as the line of docks / light houses, etc falls in the lower third of the image making for a more dynamic image. That same line in the second one seems to split the image (top/bottom) directly in half...

I'm completely new to photography and DPS but here's my penny's worth: I prefer the first one two - I like the way my eyes follow up the lighthouse towers towards the moon. I agree with Vince that in the second, the horizon line seems to cut the photo in half.

I think that in images of reflective water, the horizon looks better in the center rather than in the line of thirds. It makes for a vertically balanced photo. Also I think the first cut's off part of the reflections which work as leading lines in the second.
