Default Car show reflections

Hello, I wonder if this is one of those situations where "if you have to ask" the answer is probably already apparent.

I took this at a car show today, and decided to turn it into HDR because I forgot to account for how bright the hub cap was and I got no detail in the rest of the tire. My specific concern is the orange glow on the whitewall. Should I have dialed down the saturation to get rid of that? Actually, even when it was down (and even in the original shot) the reflected orange from the nearby car gave an orange tinge to the whitewall.

Oh, I also nearly completely desaturated the shadow areas so that the tire and ground almost become monochrome. Does that work?

I will include the original also. Maybe you all think I don't need the detail in those black areas since it is really an artsy kind of shot?
Car Show Reflections

Same as before, No HDR
I guess there is not EXIF info with HDR, so I will tell you:

55mm
f8
200 ISO
1/100

All comments appreciated! Thanks for being my professors!

I like the second shot better. The black areas really bring out the reflection on the car. Also, the rough texture of the pavement clashes with the smooth fluid texture of the car. I think you are right, it is an artsy photo and you don't need the detail of the ground. Nice Job.

Whoo hoo! Someone replied! Thanks I am beam. I often look for critique photos that haven't been critiqued yet so I can be the one to get the ball rolling. Thanks! Even though I didn't have any opinions yet, I decided to put the non-processed version on my blog. I think I made the right decision.

Nice job Alpha...my kind of shot. I also enjoy car photography. My preference...? the second shot. I don't think the tire and gravel detail does anything for your composition, but I do like the rich colors in the first shot.

Thanks, Autofocus. I did what it said and took a look at your car album (ohh, "Auto" focus, I get it!) Good stuff. I think (but it was a hard decision) I like "A summer evening in '55" best. Thanks for commenting!

Thanks for viewing my album Alpha...we have great cruise nights through the summer here in my home town. There's been nights when they'll have 150 cars coming in. I view many of these cars as works of art, and certainly a wealth of photographic opportunities

Ah, cruise night...I am from Modesto, CA--George Lucas' hometown. We know a thing about cruising here (American Graffiti was about Modesto), but you know what? It is against the law now! Too many gang bangers coming from out of town to start trouble.

too bad a few have to ruin it for the many...isn't that always the way (for pretty much everything in life)

I like the second one the first one hurts my eyes,But if you would like to fix the white wall layer the two images and erase the white wall showing the whiter one at the bottom.turn down the opacity so it blends.
