Default Business Card - Which One

business cardb

business carda

I cannot add the EXIF because this is basically a collage. When I look at it I am leaning toward the first one. I chose this design b/c it matches my website...Which one do you guys like better?

I like the first one but I think you can go without the word "Affordable" -- you take beautiful portraits and don't need that selling point on a business card. Also, I like the belly shot but the blue seems to overpower the card and my eye keeps focusing there -- maybe another B&W in that spot?

Good point re the blue. - I use the word affordable b/c I cannot believe what some people charge for an 8x10 in Northern VA - But you make a good point b/c every time I raise my prices I get more clients...

What if you maybe took the pics and collaged them across the bottom half of the card and had your logo and info together above that - just a thought. (The sides just seem a little heavy to me).

You said it coordinated with your site? Do you happen to have a link to your website?

I used to live over there -- went to Lake Braddock High School my senior year-- interesting area and potential clients. I think using the word "Affordable" makes you seem like you are trying too hard -- and attracts a certain type of client. I keep looking at the card and can't decide if color in four corners or just on bottom works better. Also, I like when "eyes" draw you in -- maybe bottom left should be open eyes?

I was thinking of moving the bottom pics - I didn't b/c I was trying for b/w then color - an AB pattern. But you are right about Affordable...my website is www.pixiememories.com

I may just get rid of the word affordable and make the Pixie bigger...and calll it a day...

Neither one really does it for me. There's too much going on in such a small space, and that font doesn't read easily when you shift it to the vertical.

If you drop the vertical text at the sides (hard to read + much higher contrast than the rest), you could add another square shot on the bottom row and increase the size of the central box on the top so that "Pixie Memories" can be included in full. Having the word "Affordable" makes it look like that is the name of your business. You would also have space to change the central text to "Affordable portraiture for...".

Do think about the size of the text, too. The average business card is smaller than the images above and I wonder if the writing will become almost illegible, particularly given the ornate font.

A final thought: how about picking pictures where the subjects' eyes all lead up to the logo? (except perhaps that picture of your son, who can be the link with the viewer)

I agree about the sides - don't really like it and it's difficult to read, and takes away from your beautiful photos

I agree with ixnaying the "Affordable" - and I like the first one. Very cool, Pat! The collage looks great.
