Default Misty Sunrise

I took these photos on a beautiful misty morning just prior to sunrise. Both photos are an HDR I performed in Photoshop Elements 7. I did the top one first, but thought it was a little dark when I saw it on my work computer, so I increased the brightness of the photo for the second one (actually, I just used an auto levels adjust). On my flickr, I've had positive comments on both photos, but I'd just like a little more feedback on which is better so I can try and replicate such work in the future.

Also, any other critiques are definitely welcome.

Thanks for your help.

Very moody colors in both photos. The first one seems a bit dark to me, while the second one seems to have colors that are just a little too wild. So.... I'd like to see a combination. Given the choices, #2 is my favorite -- it's clearre, the dew on the grass shows up well, and I can see the mist better. But the colors are "out there" enough that it starts to bother me.

Thanks dcclark,

I'll give that a shot tonight, and see if I can tame it down a bit. Thanks for your input.

The 1st Photo is a little dark for me, But it's before sunrise so the colouring is more believable,I would probably add a Gradient to the second one,the colouring is more appealing however the skyline isn't.{if you were going for real} Very nice dew drops on every blade of grass, attention to detail is tops!

I like the sky in the first one and the rest of the 2nd one. I'd love to see a combo.

Thanks Tjphoto,

By adding a gradient, do you mean to combine the two like what Tammster suggested?

Redid this photo last night. I did an HDR using the foreground of the second photo, and the sky of the first photo from the RAW file, but then I backed off the recovery a bit in the sky, which I think makes it look a little more natural. What do you think?
