Default HDR, Bordeaux Law Courts.

Hello, here is an HDR that I did today, I have been experimenting with the technique over the past week, and I don't like at all the types of images that have that often talked about 'HDR' look, however I can see alot of promise in the technique. I have included the original image (the properly exposed one) to compare. I feel I was somewhat conservative but I think the processing still adds to the image, giving it a bit more life. What do you think? Do you think I could have achieved a better result, if so how? Thank-you in advance for your criticism.

Palais Justice, Bordeaux HDR

Palais Justice, Bordeaux NON-HDR

Images taken on a Canon 1000D with the 18-55 lens, the unprocessed image above was:
1/13 f22 ISO100, the other two were 1/15 and 1/10.

I put them through photomatix, then into photoshop where I masked out the sky (it was too dark and purple), I also adjusted some of the bottom left hand corner which came out overexposed.

Josh.

I like what you have done to the photo.
The HDR has really made the orange of the stairs jump out.
I am certainly no expert - just offering an opinion. I am still learning what makes a good photo so I can't offer too much from a knowledge base, only from a "what I think" perspective.
I like it.

That first shot is excellent. The HDR process you did on that really makes the details stand out perfectly.

I wouldn't have guessed you had done an HDR by just looking at the photo. Excellent work! I really like this shot!
