Default This is oil country - B&W or color?

I can't decide. The wife prefers the black and white. Thoughts? Opinions?

This be oil country - Color

This be oil country - Black and White

They are both beautiful. I love the vibrancy of the colors in the first one. The machine looks more silhouetted in the first one too. If I HAD to pick I would pick the first one.

The color one IS vibrant, but the B & W has a more powerful mood to it; it feels more like a story. Something about how the pumping continues from sun-up to sun-up (or sun-down to sun-down). I'm made more aware of the big sky and the stark rig against it. So I'm voting with your wife.

Sky on the 1s one is great, but as whole, I would go for second.

Thanks everyone for your opinions! It seems like B&W won out with only a very slight lead!

*bows to all*

Thanks again!

Ohhhh.

I know this is about 12 hours too late, but I think it's OK since I'm agreeing with your final answer.

I have to go with B&W because the color version seems overly saturated. The color scheme of blue over the clouds and yellow under might work for some people, but it hints "photoshopped" to me.

But still, that aside, I love the shot.
