Default Hittin up the beach

Ok so im lookin for some critique as well as which image do you like better? I'm leaning towards the color version but I like the B&W for the detail that is present in it.

Both are 3 exposure HDR images tonemapped in photomatix and tweaked in CS4.

Camera: Sony DSLR-A700
Aperture: f/6.7 (Is this even possible?)
Focal Length: 10 mm
ISO Speed: 100

I agree with archersdad, the first one captures the eye more, I feel like when I look at the second I am serching for something to focus in on, but the colors and textures of the first really captures my attention!!!! Great work btw!!!!
