Default Sunrise on the lake.

Yesterday I took these photos before sunrise at a lake near my home. I processed the RAW image first with the cooler colors which has very little actual editing done, and then with warmer colors adjusted in Photoshop Elements 7. Which do ya'll prefer? Also, I'm always looking for ways to improve so please feel free to help me learn how to take a better photo next time.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thumbs up

I prefer the first one with the blue sky and water because it gives this photo more color and more life. It also really helps the orange and black stand out, whereas the yellow makes everything look duller (to me).

What is on the black thing on the bottom right corner? I kind of find it a little distracting.

I prefer the more natural-looking colors of the first one.

The only stupid question is the one that is never asked, except maybe “Don’t you think it is about time you audited my return?”

Thank you both for you comments. The black thing on the bottom right is a corner of the bank. I feel a little embarrassed now because I was going to crop that out, and then got distracted and forgot. Thanks for the reminder. I need to pay a little better attention to my composition so I don't introduce such things in the first place. Thanks again for your input.

They're both very good in their own ways, although I have to agree, if I see sky, tend to expect it to be blue

The blue one for me too. Just having a small amount of the orange draws the eye in more.

I like the first one too, as the wider range in colors makes the photo more interesting. Great shot.
