Hi,

Here's a photo that I took several years ago - been experimenting with Photoshop - trying to take an ok image and make it better.

Here's the original picture

Canon 300D - Sigma len 28-80mm
f 5.6
Shutter 1/60th
ISO 100
0 Step
60MM Focal length





And here's the edited version




Looking for any thoughts on the original shot or the edit.

This is really more suited to the Comparison-Critique section. I will say that it was good to level the horizon, but I think some of the drama in the sky was cropped out.

A significant increase in contrast (I'd use a Curves layer rather than playing with "Contrast") will improve your photo, I think.

I'd also look at cropping even further down and also in from the left to give more prominence to the foreground fishermen. That might not work well, but I think it might be worth a look.

I think the comp is fine. The edit is also good. I personally would have put some blues back into the sky and created a little DOF. Thats just me though....

I say this because I have one very similar.
