I find the black and white much more intriguing and misty.

Steve, look at the small thumbnails in your post. The color one has much more detail than the B&W. The B&W puts the focus on the boat and the color is an environmental shot that de-emphasizes the boat.

So think about what is the point or focus of your image and it will become apparent to you which way to go.

I like both for different reasons.

Jim

I agree with Jim. The color vs black and white seems to change the focus of the picture. I think they both work but personally, the color one caught my eye first. It is an interesting scene and the color seems to help emphasize the detail throughout.

I think the B&W gives it a very interesting mood that I like. The color one doesn't really do much for me. Nice shot.

I can see why you're stuck between the two. I agree that the B/W is more focused on the boat while the color image is a wider image of the scene as a whole. Ultimately it's up to you and what you want to portray to the viewers. That being said, I personally like the B/W more. The B/W works well with the mist, and the whole scene looks almost surreal.

I personally love the first color version in the original post. It has JUST enough color to give it some depth. The slight desaturation gives it quite an interesting, artistic look.

Default IMO the B&W is my fav.

I have to say the shot itself is great. The B&W is my favorite. The B&W seems to have a story to it. First focus is the boat and along with the mist/fog on the water the picture feels like an eerie scene in a movie. I can picture a person with a cloak and holding out a lantern walking in from the left side.
