Smile SEPIA or B&W

Hello all,

Im new to the community and looking to make good use of the forums to improve my photography. So could you help me out a bit and tell me which of the below photos you prefer? the photos are linked to my flick page so feel free to check them out for a detailed description. Thanks!


SEPIA version
Gateway to yesteryear (sepia)

OR

The Black & White version
Gateway to yesteryear (B&W)

My preference is the sepia version, mainly because of the "aged" look.

+1 for sepia. I like how the light looks in the sepia compared to the BW in which it looks dull.

Oh well, I guess Sepia it is then. Personally, I am a monochrome fan, but I guess the Sepia adds a bit of drama to the image..

I like the sepia too. It just stands out more to me personally.

The sepia is more moody but I really like the sharp contrast in the gate in the second one - it really glows for me in a different way. (Until I think too hard about it and then see it in the sepia as well!)

Definitely the sepia look. The "aged look" it provides really works!
