Default Crop Preference

Do you have a preference? I like the tight crop but the uncropped gives a bit more detail/information to the viewer. Maybe you like neither and that's a legitimate response too. TIA.

I prefer the un-cropped. I don't like the way her hands are chopped off in the crop. The overall comp is just more pleasing to me in the un-cropped.

Nice shot, btw!!

I like the cropped one way better. When looking at it, my eyes go straight to her eyes and stay there, while in the un-cropped version, the white shirt acts as a magnet for my eyes. I think the cropped one strongly and undoubtedly emphasizes her face and eyes, while the other one doesn't. Just my opinion of course!

I agree with milosh in this one. Those eyes make me not care about the chopped off hands. I can't look anywhere else, but her eyes.

Given the choice of two, I'd go for the uncropped one. I don't like the rotation introduced with the cropped one and think it has come in a bit too close. However, I do like the idea of making her face relatively larger in the frame so would probably crop in almost as close but without the rotation.

The impact of the face/eyes was my thought when I first made the crop and probably why I preferred it initially.

Thanks Wulf - there is probably a happy medium in there some place. I'll rework it a bit and see if I can't find a sweet spot.

Thanks!

I'd LOVE to see the finished result, I'll bet it would be great!

I still like the original un-cropped version the best, but this crop is definitely an improvement over the first crop.
