Default full moon adjusted correctly?

i adjusted the curves in the original image and i got this... but i am not sure whether i did the right thing or not...

Not knowing what you used to shoot these or the settings used you might want to look here to get some pointers,,,also be sure to look at the critique guidelines, you'll get much more help if you provide what is asked for...

is actually quite right...

if i may rephrase my question... is it much better to keep the brightness of the moon or to show the craters?

Moon photography requires this to be shot in full manual mode. There are a ton on articles on how to best photograph the moon, as well as to shoot using a telescope.

If you are trying to use your telescope as a zoom lens, there are ways to accomplish what you're after,
