Default Playing with light & graduated tint

Here is the original:

Which I really like.

Here is what I did with it in Picasa, which is the only editing software I have at the moment. I used the graduated tint feature.

They are both fine but I like the original better because I expect the sun to be bright white.

Thank you. I was just asking my husband for his (unbiased, of course) opinion of this shot, because there is just something about it that bothers me, but I can't put my finger on it. He was no help. I really want it to be more than just "fine", know what I mean?

So, what would you do different, other than have better editing software, which we have discussed on another thread. (I will be shopping this weekend! Yay!)

The sun being dead center in your composition is what is probably bothering you. Get farther down, like laying on the ground and position the sun in the upper third left or right which ever side gives you the best trees. This may be a candidate for a B&W conversion.
