Default To B&W or not to B&W... Your feedback counts!

Hi All,

I took this photograph just moments before the sunset near one of the restaurants.

I just can't make up my mind to leave it colored or to go B&W as I can see both versions are appealing: The colored version gives you sense of time when the shot was taken, while the B&W version gives you more focus on the pier (These are my views, not to effect your feedback)

What do you advise?

Color:

The Pier

B&W:

The Pier (B&W)

Thanks for your feedback.

I really like the different shades of blue in the color photo. The water has a sort of calming effect to it.

I like the color of the blue one more, but there's a hint of detail to the underside of the pier in the B&W one that intrigues me. I wonder if you could add some fill lighting to bring out a bit of detail on the underside.

Hmmmm, I'll try bringing back the details as it was exposed for the brightest part of the remaining sun light.

I'll still take it as 2-0 for the colored one's favor.

Why are you choosing only one?

I really like them both
I guess it depends what you plan to do with the image? If I HAD to pick, I think I would throw another vote in for the colour version. The blues are too nice.

Though I like the B&W shot, the colors in the first are just simply to keep.

Color, color. color...keep the color. The black and white does no real favors here..the color is good.

Like the B&W, as it removes the color being what draws my eye, now I see the pier first and follow it to its end, whereas I was constantly looking around the color image before I got to the end.
