Default Without or without a Texture Overlay?

Hey I never have used a texture overlay on a photo I was editing for a client before, (just playing around on my own). But I wanted to try one on this image... I used for the texture a picture of some bokah circles. So which one is better? The top without the texture or the bottom with the texture?

I find both of the photos are washed out and I don't feel as though the texture really adds anything to the photo...it's almost too subtle. I think you might have better luck if you continue to experiment with different textures, though!

I wouldn't have known the texture was there if I was just giving the shot a glance. Maybe it would be more noticeable if the shot, specifically the balloons and the subject were a tad darker.
