My first post, I must inform you lads that I just started shooting last month.
I need to choose one for a teen artist contest thats coming up called "Teen Arts"
don't know which one to register for the event, Your opinion will go towards my final decision, *Thanks in advance

This is just according to my taste , since you are just starting shooting, it' s a fine shots. Both pictures have pros and cons but choosing between the two, I will go my vote for the first one even it's appear overexposed, but if you want to improve this shot, I suggest the following;

- Shot the subject facing towards your lens
- Try to stabilize your image, I notice some blurriness on the subject
- Work for your DOF
- Adjust your lightings
- Keep on experimenting different angles
